Circulating cooling and proven performance. Starting with your internal processes.
By definition, industrial cooling and refrigeration technologies reuse process fluids: they are, in and of themselves, systems that follow a circular economic model. The key is to do it right—by optimizing the use of water, air, and energy based on actual data from the customer’s facility and, where possible, refurbishing machinery instead of replacing it.
At MITA Group, we do all of this. And that’s not all. Starting in 2026, we’re adding a second pillar: verification. With the MITA group R&D Lab, claimed performance becomes measured performance, under controlled conditions and documented in a test report. Innovation and circularity go hand in hand: a machine selected based on the right data uses fewer resources throughout its entire life cycle.
It is a model that always attracts customers, new talent and stakeholders of different kinds, because it reconciles optimization that is good for the environment and beneficial to end-users’ finances.
MITA Group R&D Lab: Experimentally Verified Performance
Opened in 2026 in Siziano, the MITA Group R&D Lab is the Group’s facility for performance testing of all cooling and refrigeration technologies—evaporative cooling towers, dry coolers, adiabatic coolers, and chillers—across a thermal power range from 15 kW to 1 MW. Two test stations—a climate chamber that controls the temperature from 4 °C to 50 °C and relative humidity from 30% to 100%, and an outdoor area capable of handling up to 1 MW—allow for the testing of equipment under the actual operating conditions it will face.
Data is collected once per second on a National Instruments platform and provided to the customer in a test report; instrument calibration certificates are available upon request, and tests are configured according to the reference standards for each type of unit. This means specifications you can sign off on, acceptance tests without disputes, and efficiency decisions based on numbers, not promises. This is where innovation and circularity converge: accurately measuring a machine today means using fewer resources throughout its entire operational lifespan.
Sustainable selection with advanced software programs
Water, air and project data as elements, customized consulting as a mission, sustainability as a result: for the selection of the best technology useful for the individual plant, all Group companies use advanced tools for selection, energy analysis and ROI calculation.
This means offering energy, economic and environmental optimized solutions, promoting savings and sustainability. We are careful to choose recyclable materials at the end of life and provide LCA and carbon footprint analysis of the system supplied upon request.
Regeneration, revamping, systems in readiness
Three distinct practices, the same concept: bringing cooling and refrigeration systems back to life, with significantly reduced impact on the environment and customer costs.
Group companies adopt sustainable solutions to extend the life cycle of products: their own or those of other suppliers. In certain situations, MITA Cooling Technologies can remanufacture cooling towers to deliver “as good as new” performance, with a standardized process that includes testing and certification. TORRAVAL Cooling focuses on revamping field-erected cooling towers, improving their energy efficiency and acoustics through targeted interventions on internal and mechanical components.
Testing and commissioning on all chillers
What about what about Frigofluid process chillers? These are complex machines that mount state-of-the-art refrigeration components. Therefore, a check is needed at the end of construction to ensure performance, functionality, and reliability, which are critical to the client’s key processes.
Each Frigofluid chiller undergoes precise stages of testing: refrigerant circuit pressure tightness test, vacuum and drying test, hydraulic power circuit test, electrical wiring check of both switchboard and motors, stability test under thermal load.
These tests are carried out in an advanced laboratory. Only after full testing is completed is the system declared ready for installation, ensuring maximum efficiency and sustainability.
